What is Mapping to the Core?
- Unpack the Common Core State Standards to identify and edit the major components of a Consensus Unit Map for each grade level and each subject area (ELA and Math)
- Identify the non-negotiable content and skills from the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) that will include all grade level Consensus Unit Maps
- Align the components unpacked from the CCSS within a grade level for the entire year
- Align the components unpacked from the CCSS across grade levels to ensure the Depth of Knowledge increases from year to year within a subject
